石岡ダム (Shigang Dam)

The 石岡 (Shigung) dam was the largest concrete gravity dam in Taiwan. The concrete dam structure was struck directly by the fault and had fatal breakage in its North side. As the fault crossing across the dam, the east part of the fault, 80 % of the dam, is uplifted about 10 m high while the west part is about 3 m. Right on the fault, the concrete dam wall was just cut off and 7 m difference appeared in the elevation. The uplift makes the dam unable to reserve water as it used to do.
